Last month, Rebecca joined the Piper and Heath safari group on their Big Cat Expose as the Botswana cheetah representative. The Expose's aim was to offer a big cat focused safari to their participants, with resident conservationists joining for different sections of the safari in order to give an in depth understanding of the conservation status of the wild areas being visited and the big cat species being observed. It is also a great opportunity to put interested supporters in touch with people doing effective conservation on the ground. Rebecca and the group visited Kalahari Plains, a Wilderness Safari camp in the remote Central Kalahari Game Reserve for 3 days. The Kalahari is a significant conservation area and wonderful wildlife destination. We were lucky enough to see cheetah & leopard, along with 15 other mammals and more than a few endemic birds. The Kalahari is, to those who call it home, a place of introspection and internal monologue, an opportunity that becomes harder and harder to find not only in our hectic lives, but also on the more mainstream safaris. Please enjoy the video clip - Kalahari Plains: http://youtu.be/SF_1AZ18AH0 and help us spread the word about this wondrous place.
