CCB partnered with Ghanzi Department of Youth again to host a one day youth farmers workshop for 32 farmers on the 19th of February 2015 at a conference hall in Ghanzi. These are youth grant beneficiaries who benefited from the government youth schemes for rearing small stock and cattle. The workshop addressed factors that can hamper the productivity of individual farmers such as livestock depredation, diseases and livestock theft. Various stakeholders including the Departments of Wildlife and National Parks, Veterinary Services, Animal Production and the Botswana Police Service honored their invitations to present at the workshop. Ghanzi Department of Youth was very thankful and we are very hopeful that this will continue going forward and expand to other youth department offices within our areas of operation. It is by working side by side with the farming communities can the lives of predators can be saved from extinction. Excursions included a visit to our demonstration farm and on display was predator livestock management at its best.
