The livestock guarding dog placement activity in Northern Botswana was completed successfully and 36 puppies were placed! The recipients of the puppies come from Chobe, Okavango and Boteti districts in Botswana. At the time of placement, all the puppies were de-wormed and vaccinated. A supply of dog food and a bottle of dip was provided to each farmer. It was demonstrated to all the recipients on how to care for the puppies. Questionnaires were administered and monitoring will continue on monthly basis to evaluate the progress and development of the puppies into effective livestock guarding dogs. So far the feedback from the farmers has been incrediblly positive. Good luck to them all!
