CCB and Lekgolobotlo Primary School Environmental Education Club hosted a volunteer camping visit at the school for two consecutive weekends towards the end of March 2014. The camping was embraced by students from the University of Botswana's Wildlife and Environmental Conservation Society (UBWECS), to assist with some hands on activities at the newly built Bio-park. The UBWECS students offered voluntary assistance for clearing the grass at the Bio-park and around the school, renovating the school parking lot, mural painting, renovating the bird feeders and the bird pool. Extra hands were also provided by the Village Development Committee representatives, the village leadership and the youth. All these stakeholders contributed immensely to the overall cleaning and maintenance of the school grounds. The Lekgolobotlo teachers and students were overwhelmed by the results and are looking forward to another visit! Many thanks as well to our sponsors Dulux for the paints, Diamond Educational Publishers for the gardening tools and the Parents-Teachers Association of Lekgolobotlo Primary School for donating some groceries used for the two weekends.
