The annual Ghanzi Agricultural Show was hosted in Ghanzi from the 26 - 29 June 2013, with exhibitors ranging from traders, corporates, government, parastatals, private institutions, NGO's, individuals, including livestock owners, who showcased their products and services. The show was held under the theme, Diversified Agricultural Production, the key to food security and sustainable economic development. CCB participated at the show and the main objectives were to showcase our services, share knowledge and information with the farming communities and the general public, and to answer questions from our stall visitors. The traffic at our stall was overwhelming as we also had a competition running where the winner recieved CCB merchandise after asking a series of cheetah related questions. The general outcome was that people were very interested in our services, asking many questions on predator safe livestock farming such as the use of livestock guard dogs (LSGD). In return, they shared their farming experiences with us and some even registered for the LSGD programme. We gave out CCB resources and we hope that such information and support will result in improved attitudes towards predators and a realisation that indeed coexistence is possible in order to save the predators of Botswana and protect livelihoods.
