Cheetah Conservation Botswana hosted Tswelelopele Brigade Centre Environmental Education Club from the 14th to 18th August 2013. The brigade is located in Ramotswa village, in the South East district of Botswana. The objectives of the bush camp were to motivate and inspire students and teachers to develop positive attitudes towards the environmental issues including predator conservation, to share ideas and experiences about the environmental issues that occurs in and around the environments we live in and to appreciate the importance of flora and fauna in the ecosystem.
The lessons were based on wildlife conservation, human wildlife conflict, livestock management practices, water conservation and waste management. The students also brought their environmental projects of which they shared with CCB staff and their fellow students. Other activities included a guided walk through the bush for bird-sightseeing, spoor identification and appreciation of the natural environment. Students and teachers played games at the sports grounds, had swims in the pool just to relax in the afternoon. There was an evening fire where all shared jokes, stories and or perhaps chose to watch wildlife documentaries. It was a wonderful time for all and yet another successful bush camp for CCB.
