CCB together with Kanye Department of Agricultural Business and Promotion hosted a two day livestock record keeping training for Southern Livestock Farmers Network (SOLIFANE) from Jwaneng to enhance their farming knowledge and skills to improve efficiency. The aim of the workshop was to stress the importance of record keeping in farming and how it can improve productivity, as well as to build capacity and advance the way in which the members of SOLIFANE have been doing their livestock record keeping. SOLIFANE members were very grateful for the opportunity and Kanye Department of Agricultural Business and Promotion was very pleased with the turnout, the energy and commitment from SOLIFANE. The aim of the networks is to facilitate the sharing of ideas, exchange of experiences as well as connect them with relevant stakeholders for them to keep their farming in line with modern ways of farming. The workshop proved fruitful for SOLIFANE members and they were given record keeping booklets to start doing their records accurately. Farming communities that have secure livelihoods are more likely to happily coexist with wildlife, and that is what our networks initiatives capitalize on. We would like to Kanye Department of Agricultural Business and Promotion for their support and we hope we will continue to work with them in improving the lives of the farming communities we work with.
