CCB at World Environment Day Celebrations in Mokhomma, Mabutsane Sub District, Botswana
This year's theme was Green Economy: A Way To Go. It is this economy that employs the concept of sustainable development whilst creating employment opportunities. In celebration of this theme, CCB was invited to set up a stall for exhibition at the 2012 World Environment Day (WED) in the village of Mokhomma, near the diamond mining town of Jwaneng. Our Communications Officer, Connie Sebati, also took on the role of judging other exhibitors at the event, since CCB is a member of the National Environment Education Committee (NEEC). Our Community Outreach Coordinator, Morulaganyi Kokole, was busy at the CCB stall sharing information on the CCB's farmer support programs and learning about the challenges of the Mokhomma community. There were many exhibitors from different categories with exceptional conservation ideas and a diversity of products made out of recycled materials to exhibit. The day was a great success, there were many opportunities for networking with environmental practitioners and the word of the environment conservation was effectively spread!
