The 2013 Environmental Education Association of Southern Africa, (EEASA) Conference was held at Malawi, Lilongwe from the 10th to the 12th of September 2013. The EEASA is a regional organization established to facilitate environmental and sustainable development education throughout Southern Africa. The theme for 2013 was “Green Economy: Insights and Perspectives for Environmental Education in Southern Africa”. This required Environmental Practitioners in Southern Africa to come together to share ideas and experiences on practices that improve human well-being and social equity while significantly reducing environmental risks. Botswana had a delegation sent to this conference made up of government, and non-government institutions such as Department of Wildlife and National Parks, Department of Environmental Affairs, Department of Curriculum Development and Evaluation, Birdlife Botswana, Tshole Trust, University of Botswana, Kalahari Conservation Society as well as Cheetah Conservation Botswana. The 2014 EEASA conference will be held in Namibia.
