‘Wetlands and Climate Change’, the 2019 World Wetlands Day theme, was held on the second of February. Living on the edge of the Okavango Delta we commemorated the day with the Matlapana Primary School Environmental Club. Together, we cleared litter from our beloved Thamalakane River in Maun. The goals were to reduce pollution that puts all wildlife at risk and to clear the Delta’s water for all the people of Maun who rely upon the river as a water source. Thank you to all the students for their dedication to the environment. It’s amazing what can be accomplished when our minds and hands are working for good. Happy World Wetlands Day to all!
