Building on this success, with KGDEP now officially at a close, we are excited to announce plans, in conjunction with Department of Wildlife and National Parks, to extend the horse patrols and cover a broader area including two more cattleposts. This next phase, supported with funds from the Lion Recovery Fund and the Wilderness Trust, will see additional trained horse patrollers, additional livestock satellite trackers, and the introduction of enhanced conflict monitoring tools. By gradually scaling up, we aim to provide even greater support to farming communities vulnerable to human-wildlife conflict, thus contributing to livelihood security and enabling coexistence through proactive, community-led interventions.
